Results Summary
This calculator determines the results based on the following standard financial formula for Employee Provident Fund (EPF):
Variables Glossary
- Emp_share
- Employee EPF contribution (12% of basic salary)
- Employer_share
- Employer EPF contribution (3.67% of basic salary)
- Interest
- EPF annual interest rate credited monthly (currently ~8.25%)
Calculates the combined monthly interest on employee and employer shares, credited to the cumulative balance annually.
How is the employer's contribution to EPF split?
The employer contributes 12% of basic salary + DA. However, this is split: 3.67% goes directly into your EPF account, and the remaining 8.33% goes into the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) for monthly pensions after retirement.
Is EPF interest credited monthly or annually?
EPF interest is calculated monthly on the running balances, but it is credited to the EPF account balance once a year at the end of the financial year.
